Medicare is the federal health insurance program for people who are 65 or older, certain younger people with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease (permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis or a transplant, sometimes called ESRD). There are different parts of Medicare, and a Medicare Advantage insurance plan includes many types of services. A Medicare Supplement plan can help cover any gaps between what is covered and what you pay in out of pocket costs. Let Americare set you up with the right Medicare plan today!

How to Qualify for Medicare Supplement Plans
To be eligible to enroll in a Medicare Supplement plan, you must be enrolled in both Medicare Part A and Part B. You can enroll for the Supplement plan during the Medigap Open Enrollment Period, which begins on the first day of the month that you are both age 65 or older and enrolled in Part B, and lasts for six months. During this time, you have the guaranteed-issue right to join any Medicare Supplement plan available where you live. You may not be denied coverage based on any pre-existing conditions during this enrollment period. If you miss this enrollment period and attempt to enroll in the future, you may be denied coverage or charged a higher premium based on your medical history. In some states, you may be able to enroll in a Medigap plan before the age of 65. The Medicare enrollment plan can be confusing, which is why our experienced agents are standing by ready to help you navigate through the process and secure your health insurance!
